We're Off!

It was a rocky start, but we're finally on our way to Florida! Adhering to our family tradition, Mimi came last night to help us pack. We all felt so accomplished when we finally got the car completely packed:

(Note: Make sure you note the gappy toothed girl in this photo...she lost her 4th tooth this morning! Looks like the tooth fairy will be visiting us in Birmingham at the hotel tonight!)

However, as we were pulling out of the driveway, I told Lance I was a little concerned about the back dome light, which wouldn't turn off. Lance said we couldn't leave until we figured it out, which didn't make any of us very happy. 

After several phone calls, an exhausting stop at Auto Zone and some internet research, we found ourselves at a random car repair store. The man made a couple of suggestions, and Lance figured it out.

I'm so relieved! 

We're now on our way...and everyone is happy. Lyla with her new book (Book 8 in a series she's been reading all summer):
