Today was a perfect day to spend at the Zoo. Lyla was excited about our adventure, which started with a few puffs. She loves her snack cup – she leaves a trail of Puffs everywhere she goes:
We started with the flamingos – Lyla was immediately enthralled. She pointed at the birds and said something that sounded like the “B” sound as she looked on with Daddy:
I think she was considering jumping in with the swans and ducks:
And, then, she enjoyed a close encounter with the missing link. Well, I guess he isn’t really missing:
She decided to wave to him before we left:
More puffs after the gorilla encounter:
And one last stop before we headed home:
And, what would a trip to the zoo be without at least one stroll?
In other developmental news, Lyla is now “dancing”. She works on perfecting her “Hottman Move” by bending her knees when she hears music playing. She’s really enjoying the dogs next door and her ongoing search for “krinkle leaves”. She’s in for a treat when the leaves really start falling. :)
My favorite shots are when you zoom in and do a really close up of Lyla. I especially like the one where the brim of her sun bonnet is tipped up and the one at Cracker Barrel where she's chasing little bits of food. I know I've told you this before but she is going to be one happy young woman when she's old enough to read this whole journal and appreciate all the work you've done to keep it up. The love will shine through.
